Privacy Policy

Effective 10 August 2026

The short version. advntr is a trip-planning app for small groups. We store the things you need for that to work — who is in your trip, the trips you draft, and how everyone rates them — and nothing we don't need.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. There are no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app. We do not ask for your location, your contacts, or your photos.

Who we are

advntr ("we", "us") is an independent app made in the United States. For anything in this policy, including privacy requests, contact us at naleamon1@gmail.com. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of the information described below.

What we collect

Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We never see or store your Apple password. Apple gives us a unique identifier for you and, depending on what you choose to share at sign-in, your name and an email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email option, we only ever receive the private relay address, and that is all we store.

Your profile

Inside the app you can set a display name, an emoji, the city you'd fly out of, and your notification preferences. Your departure city is a city you pick from a list — it is not your device location, and the app does not request location access.

Your trips

The content you create: trip names, trip drafts (destinations, dates, stays, and activities), your rankings and date responses, comments you write, and which tasks you claim. This is visible to the other people in that trip — that is the point of the product — and not to anyone outside it.

Names you type in for other people

You can add people to a trip before they have the app, by typing their name. That name is stored and is visible to everyone in the trip. Please only enter names other people would be comfortable seeing there. If that person later joins the trip from your invite link, they can take over that entry and correct it; if they ask us to remove it, we will.

Invite links

When you invite someone, we create a link. Opening it shows a limited preview before sign-in — the trip name, the first name of whoever invited them, and how many people and drafts the trip has. Nothing else about the trip is readable without signing in and joining.

Usage events

The app records product events — a screen opened, a place saved, a trip decided — so we can tell whether the product actually works. These are sent to our own database, not to any third party: each record is the kind of event, the trip it happened in, who did it, and a small amount of detail about the event itself. When you are signed in, "who" is your advntr profile; when you are not, it is recorded as nobody. There is no third-party analytics SDK in the app, and these events are used only to improve advntr — never sold, and never handed to an ad network.

Two of these events fire on the web, not in the app: when you open an invite link in a browser, and when you tap through from that page to install advntr. They record that an invite was opened, not who opened it.

What we do not collect

The app does not currently send push notifications. If we add them, we would store a device push token for delivery, and you could turn them off from your device settings.

Booking links and our partners

advntr does not sell travel. When you tap through to book a stay, an activity, or a flight, we hand you off to a partner — currently Booking.com, Viator, and flight search — in your browser, and we may earn a commission if you book.

To be credited for that referral we attach a click identifier to the outgoing link. That identifier describes the trip draft and the item you tapped, plus a timestamp. It does not contain your name, your email, or your account ID. Once you land on a partner's site you are on their property and their privacy policy governs what they collect, including their own cookies.

Separately, our server fetches destination, hotel, and activity information from travel data providers so the app has something to show. Those requests come from us and are not tied to your account.

Why we're allowed to hold it

Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we rely on: performance of a contract for the data needed to run your trips and your account; legitimate interests for keeping the service secure, debugging it, and understanding whether it works; and consent where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time.

Where it lives, and who can see it

Your data is stored in a hosted Postgres database provided by Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. Access between accounts is enforced by database-level row security: the server will not return another group's trip to you even if the app asks for it.

Beyond Supabase and the booking partners described above, we do not share your information with anyone. We would only disclose it if the law required it, or to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and your trip content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your sign-in and the personal details attached to it, and we detach everything else from you, as described below.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Delete account. It asks you to confirm, and then it happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no email to reply to. You can also email naleamon1@gmail.com from the address on your account if you would rather we did it; we action those requests within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your ability to sign in, and removes your name, your avatar and the email address associated with your Apple sign-in. You cannot sign back in afterwards, and we cannot restore the account.

What deletion does not do is erase the trips you were part of. If you have been in a group trip, the proposals, rankings, comments and dates that trip is built from stay with the group — they are the other members' record of a decision they made together, not yours alone to remove. Your contributions stay in place but stop being attributed to you: your name is replaced and the trip no longer links back to any account. The record of what you liked, which the app uses to rank ideas, is kept in the same detached form and is not connected to you or to any way of contacting you.

If you want a specific trip gone as well as your account, ask the other people in it to delete it, or email us before you delete your account and we will sort it out with you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or hand it over in a portable format. Email us and we will do it — we will not charge you and we will not make you justify the request. If you're in the UK/EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Children

advntr is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for anything significant we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
